Terms and Conditions of Sale (TCS) – Maison Ynoma

Placing an order implies full and unconditional acceptance of these Terms and Conditions of Sale.

2. Purpose of the Terms

These Terms and Conditions define the rights and obligations of Maison Ynoma and its clients in the sale of literary services, translations, and publishing products via the website www.ynoma-editions.com.

3. Description of Services

The services offered on www.ynoma-editions.com include:

– Literary translation
– Bespoke rewriting
– In-depth editing and proofreading
– Editorial guidance
– Publication of printed and digital books
– Sales of self-published titles via partner platforms (Amazon, Kobo, D2D…)

All meetings are conducted via videoconference using a link provided after payment confirmation.
Each service is tailored to the client's specific needs. A detailed description is available on the website or sent via email prior to confirmation.

4. Orders

Order confirmation implies full acceptance of these TCS by the client. A confirmation email is sent automatically once payment is validated.
No service will begin without written confirmation and full or partial payment (as agreed).

5. Pricing & Payment Terms

Prices are listed inclusive of tax (VAT included).
Belgian VAT (21%) applies at checkout.
Maison Ynoma reserves the right to adjust its prices at any time, without notice, but orders will be charged at the rate in effect at the time of purchase.

In case of non-payment, Maison Ynoma reserves the right to suspend services.

6. Payment

Payment is due at the time of order. Accepted payment methods through Maison Ynoma’s secure Squarespace store include:

– Credit cards: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Diners Club
– Mobile payment: Apple Pay
– Digital wallets: Link, Klarna
– International cards: JCB, China UnionPay

Payments are processed via Squarespace Payments, which charges a standard fee of 2% + €0.25 per transaction (borne by the company).

Bank transfers are not accepted.
Stripe or direct transfers are not available.
Orders are confirmed only after full payment is received.

7. Delivery Timeframes

Estimated timeframes are provided upon order and may vary depending on workload and project complexity.

– Translations and custom services: timing is confirmed individually via email or message
– Digital books: available immediately via partner platforms
– Print books: shipped by print-on-demand partners to the address provided

Maison Ynoma commits to honoring agreed deadlines, except in cases of force majeure or illness.
A personalized schedule is shared after payment.
Delays caused by late client feedback or change requests may shift the timeline without refund.

8. Edits & Revisions

Maison Ynoma includes up to 2 rounds of light revisions (minor phrasing or grammar corrections) in the service price.
Major changes (tone, structure, added content) will incur additional fees.

9. Right of Withdrawal

In accordance with the Belgian Economic Code (Book VI, Articles VI.47 to VI.53), consumers have a 14-day legal right of withdrawal from the date the contract is concluded. This right does not apply to:

– services fully performed before the end of the withdrawal period with the client’s explicit consent, who acknowledges waiving their right (Art. VI.53 §1°)
– clearly personalized services (e.g. translation, rewriting, editorial coaching) (Art. VI.53 §3°)

In the absence of clear pre-contractual information, this period may be extended up to 12 months (Art. VI.48 and VI.68).

However, in the case of cancellation before the start of services, a full refund may be granted.
For printed books, return policies depend on the distributor (Amazon, Kobo, etc.).

10. Intellectual Property

The client retains full ownership of any texts submitted to Maison Ynoma.

Maison Ynoma transfers rights to delivered materials upon full payment, unless otherwise agreed (e.g. co-authored or credit-required works).
Unauthorized reproduction or distribution of site content is prohibited.

All website content (text, images, logos, book titles, collections, etc.) is protected by copyright. Any reproduction, even partial, without written permission will be prosecuted.

11. Confidentiality

Maison Ynoma guarantees to:

– Never disclose your texts or ideas
– Not share any client data with third parties
– Store files securely for 30 days post-delivery only

All materials shared for translation or rewriting remain strictly confidential. Maison Ynoma will never reuse, reproduce, or publish them without consent.

Final texts remain the property of the author, unless otherwise stated in a written agreement.

12. Limitation of Liability

Maison Ynoma cannot be held liable for:

– the editorial consequences of a manuscript validated by the client
– rejections by publishers or distributors
– residual errors if a final review was not requested
– inaccuracies in source texts provided by the client
– disputes arising from the commercial use of the delivered text
– technical issues with web hosting or partner platforms

13. Data Protection

Maison Ynoma complies with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Client data is used solely to manage the business relationship. Squarespace processes certain data on secure servers in full compliance with GDPR.

14. Disputes

These terms are governed by Belgian law.
In the event of a dispute not resolved amicably, the courts of the district where Maison Ynoma is registered shall have jurisdiction.
